Capsuling Machine: beyond the bottle and the storage environment, the only other part capable of protecting the wine is the cork. The capping machine guarantees that the wine and its organoleptic properties are not altered in any way. For example if the bottle needs to be stored for long periods.There are a whole series of external factors that counteract the perfect conservation of wine, which can essentially be; humidity, drought and insects. To overcome these problems, the cap must be protected. For this reason it is protected by a capsule, almost a secondary closure for the bottles. Sealing the cap so that it is not damaged by external agents. This is where the capsuling machine comes into operation; which takes care of inserting the capsules on the bottle after being capped at high speed.

Capsuling machine: how does it works

The operation of the capsuling machine comes into play immediately after capping. The bottle leaves the capping machine via a conveyor belt and enters the capsule. The capsule is fished through a loader that takes the capsules from a magazine which is part of the machine. As soon as the bottle is positioned under the capping head, the capsule is grafted onto the bottle cap by compressed air; until it covers the ring and part of the bottle neck. After that, the bottle enters under the thermal head where the capsule is heated in order to make it adhere perfectly and seal everything.

Use of the capsuling machine

The capsuling machine is mainly used on glass and wine. It is also used on the bottles of some alcoholic beverages, beer or extra virgin olive oil. Although still its most common use is with wine bottles. The capsules are produced with different materials that vary according to the type of product bottled. Still wine and sparkling wine need capsules of different shapes and sometimes the capsule is enclosed by a cage; to prevent the pressure from dispersing the liquid.

Capsuling machine: variants.

In short, a capsuling machine vary in number and type of heads, type of centering and type of operation. Such as the type of coupling, mechanical or pneumatic. The heads, the units that physically apply the capsule to the bottle. The greater their number, the higher the production speed. It starts from a head or monotheist for the smallest machines up to 20 and more heads. As mentioned; they differ in the type of heads, usually snare, pneumatic and thermal. This varies according to the type of capsule used.

The snare head is used for polylaminate, lead, tin and aluminum capsules. For the capsules for sparkling wine or capsuloni, the pneumatic head is used. The thermal head is used for the PVC heat shrink capsules. These variants then differ in the type of cork used, satin or mushroom.

The type of centering used which varies according to the precision with which the capsule is positioned on the bottle.

In conclusion, the capper consists of a capsule magazine, an external plate with various channels where to insert rows of thermal or PVC or tin capsules, making sure that the machine automatically loads the capsules continuously. Optionally, the capsule magazine can be extended for a long autonomy.
